Seven signs your hair needs a treatment

  1. Lacks shine

Hair that lacks shine indicates that the outer layer of the hair (the cuticle) isn’t closing and creating a smooth surface for light to reflect and create shine and luminosity so it’s a sure sign that your hair isn’t getting enough nourishment.

  1. Tangles & knots easily

Tangles and knots are usually created by the cuticle layer of the hair “grabbing” against the hair beside it and twisting and knotting. A closed cuticle allows the hair to glide against each other with less chance of tangles.

  1. Breakage

Hair that breaks easily has been weakened and needs a greater level of care to return strength to the hair structure.

  1. Split ends

Split ends are a cry for help in terms of hair that has been stressed. Hair with a high number of split ends needs extra soothing and replenishment.

  1. Colour fade

Colour fade is caused by the cuticle layer of the hair remaining open allowing hair to lose colour sooner than hair with a closed cuticle layer. Closing the cuticle locks in colour ensuring longer lasting results.

  1. Doesn’t grow

Hair that doesn’t appear to “grow” is more than likely breaking before it achieves the length you would like. Increasing strength and moisture is key to hair that doesn’t break.

  1. Feels rough

If your hair feels rough and never seems to feel smooth this is another sign that the cuticle layer of the hair is remaining open. Closing the cuticle ensures hair feels smooth to the touch and ensures moisture, strength and nourishment are retained.
